Thermal Water Balm with Hyaluronic Acid and CICA Protect

Many people will recognise the feeling: their skin feels tight, itchy, dull and stressed, even though they faithfully applied cream in the morning. Standard moisturisers are often no longer enough at that point. A new balm, inspired by therapeutic thermal spa treatments, is intended to fill precisely this gap – combining thermal water, hyaluronic acid and a restorative protective complex.

Like a short break at a thermal spa – but in your bathroom

For decades, thermal treatments have been regarded as a remedy for stressed skin and frayed nerves. At specialist clinics, mineral-rich springs can ease skin concerns, relax muscles and, for many patients, even reduce the need for medication. This new balm adopts that concept, bringing the principles of a treatment programme into everyday life.

Its texture stands out from the first application: it is rich yet soft, and can be massaged in slowly. Taking two or three minutes over it offers more than the usual “quickly putting on cream before watching television”. The skincare moment feels calmer and more intentional, almost like a small evening ritual after a hectic day.

“The balm is not intended to be a quick beauty product, but a daily reset button for stressed skin.”

At the heart of the formula is thermal water from Montbrun in France’s Drôme region. This water has long been known locally for its soothing and regenerating properties. It contains minerals and trace elements intended to restore balance to sensitive skin – much as a traditional treatment would, but in a concentrated form in a tube.

Threefold action: hydration, repair and protection

Unlike many conventional body lotions, this balm does not focus on hydration alone. Its developers rely on a combination of components designed to work in different ways.

Multi-level hydration with hyaluronic acid

Also familiar from anti-ageing creams, hyaluronic acid is a key ingredient in this balm. The notable feature here is the use of several molecular weights. In practice, this means:

  • High-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid remains closer to the surface, where it binds water and leaves skin looking smoother and plumper.
  • Smaller molecules penetrate further and can help keep skin supple over a longer period.

The result is not merely an immediate “plumping effect”, but also a reservoir of moisture that nourishes the skin for hours. Anyone who experiences tightness after showering is likely to notice this combination particularly clearly.

A protective shield for the skin barrier

The second component is a biomimetic “CICA Protect” complex containing organic shea butter and plant-derived phytosterols. Biomimetic means that its structure is based on the skin’s natural composition. The aim is to seal small gaps in the skin barrier, much like mortar between bricks.

The blend acts like a protective layer:

  • strengthens the skin’s barrier function
