Many women struggle with brittle hair, thinning strands and a stressed scalp – and are looking for a solution that offers more than simply another shampoo.

As part of a large-scale product trial, the “Conscious Consumer Club” tested supplements from Kerabione over several weeks. More than one hundred testers recorded changes in their hair, skin and nails, producing notably clear results that point to one key finding: when nutrient intake is right, the effects can extend beyond what is immediately visible in the mirror.

What Kerabione is about

Kerabione is a supplement range designed specifically to support hair and nail health, and in some cases skin health as well. The trial included four products intended for different life stages and requirements:

  • Capsules for hair and nails (Kerabione)
  • Capsules for hair loss, focused on regrowth (Kerabione BOOSTER)
  • A specialist formula for pregnancy and breastfeeding (Kerabione MAMA)
  • Vegan shots containing adaptogens and vitamins (Kerabione SHOTS)

Each version combines vitamins, minerals and plant extracts that are frequently associated, in studies or practical use, with hair growth, keratin production or protection for the hair root.

A clear majority of women in the test group said their hair felt stronger, shed less and was accompanied by visibly improved nails.

Kerabione: Dual support for hair and nails

Many women experience both issues at once: when hair appears limp, nails often suffer too. As both are composed largely of keratin, they can be sensitive to nutrient deficiencies, stress and an unbalanced diet.

The standard Kerabione capsules contain, among other ingredients:

  • Biotin – involved in keratin formation and hair structure
  • Selenium – contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and nails
  • Zinc – important for cell division and regeneration
  • Antioxidant vitamins such as C and E

This blend is intended to address deficiencies caused by restrictive diets, dieting or periods of strain. The trial results painted a particularly clear picture: 96 per cent of participants noticed improved hair texture, less breakage and greater shine. For nails, 100 per cent reported an improvement.

Many testers reported new “baby hairs”, firmer nails and an overall more well-groomed appearance.

Common feedback included less hair collecting in the hairbrush, fewer split ends and nails that no longer tore at every opportunity. Some women noted that others had even commented on how much fuller their hair seemed – something no laboratory study can measure, but which can be highly motivating in everyday life.

Kerabione BOOSTER: When hair loss becomes an ongoing problem

Diffuse hair loss is often linked to hormonal fluctuations, thyroid issues, stress or genetic factors. Anyone shedding a great deal of hair over an extended period may try countless products, rarely with convincing results.

Kerabione BOOSTER is aimed at this issue and includes, among other components:

  • Omega-3 fatty acids – known for inflammation-modulating properties
  • Saw palmetto extract – commonly used for hormonally influenced hair loss
  • Evening primrose extract – a source of gamma-linolenic acid
  • Zinc, biotin and further micronutrients

In the trial, 97 per cent of participants stated that their hair loss had noticeably reduced. The same proportion reported new hair growth along the hairline and in areas that had become thinner.

For many women, the combination of reduced hair loss and visibly regrowing, stronger hair also boosts self-confidence.

Several testers stressed that the effect was especially noticeable during autumn and winter, when seasonal hair shedding is normally at its worst. According to the survey, many intend to continue the course for several months, suggesting that they consider the results meaningful in day-to-day life.

Kerabione MAMA: Designed for pregnancy and breastfeeding

After giving birth, many women lose considerably more hair than usual – a common consequence of hormonal change. At the same time, there is often significant uncertainty: what can be taken without putting the child at risk?

Kerabione MAMA addresses this exact concern. While the formula is intended for hair and nails, it also takes account of the particular needs of pregnancy and breastfeeding. Its ingredients include:

  • Biotin, zinc and selenium for hair and nails
  • Folic acid – essential during pregnancy
  • Iron – supports blood formation
  • Iodine – important for thyroid function
  • B vitamins

In the trial, 100 per cent of women using Kerabione MAMA reported less hair loss and better overall hair quality. Many said their hair felt fuller again, while the typical post-partum “shock” of seeing hair in the brush became less dramatic.

Breastfeeding mothers in particular said they felt much more reassured using a product tailored to their situation.

The tablets are considered easy to take, which matters in the already demanding routine of life with a baby. Several testers highlighted the practicality of combining a hair-care benefit with the standard supply of folic acid, iron and B vitamins.

Kerabione SHOTS: A vegan drinkable course

The liquid Kerabione SHOTS may appeal to women who do not wish to swallow capsules or who follow a plant-based diet. They are vegan and formulated with a combination of adaptogens and vitamins.

Their ingredients include, among others:

  • Adaptogens such as ginseng and bilberry extract
  • Silica-rich plants including horsetail and nettle
  • Plant-based ceramides to support the hair surface
  • Biotin, zinc and B vitamins

A total of 94 per cent of testers said their hair loss had reduced significantly and that fine new hairs had become visible. The same proportion observed a positive effect on their nails. Meanwhile, 97 per cent want to continue the course.

Several women described the shots as a “morning routine” that fits effortlessly into everyday life while helping hair look stronger.

Taste was also discussed: many found it pleasant, while some even called it a “little daily ritual”. The fact that the shots contain no animal-derived ingredients was particularly well received by vegans and vegetarians.

How realistic are these effects?

Hair growth is a gradual process, with hair growing by around one centimetre per month on average. Specialists therefore expect visible changes only after several weeks or months at the earliest. A trial lasting several weeks can provide initial impressions, but it does not replace long-term observation.

Even so, feedback from the Kerabione trial was comparatively clear. One possible explanation is that many women only begin a course once a deficiency has already become clearly noticeable. When biotin, zinc, selenium and other nutrients are added in a targeted way at this stage, the day-to-day difference can often seem more dramatic than with early preventative use.

It remains important to remember that supplements are not medicines and cannot treat serious illnesses. Anyone experiencing severe or sudden hair loss, bald patches or additional symptoms should always seek medical advice, for example from a GP, dermatologist or endocrinologist.

Who may benefit most from Kerabione?

The benefit may be most pronounced among groups where a nutrient deficiency or particular strain is likely. Examples include:

  • People with a restrictive or very low-calorie diet
  • Women after pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Busy people with high stress levels
  • Vegans who need to monitor their nutrient intake carefully
  • Women whose hair loss increases seasonally, such as in autumn

Anyone who can identify with several of these points may see visible effects sooner than someone who is already optimally supplied with nutrients and has few hair concerns.

What consumers should check before taking supplements

Although the test results may appear impressive, some personal responsibility is still needed. Before taking them, it is worth considering:

  • Existing health conditions, such as thyroid problems or autoimmune diseases
  • Any medicines already being used, to avoid interactions
  • Total intake of certain vitamins and minerals, including iodine or iron
  • Personal goals: less shedding, faster growth or stronger nails?

Pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as people with chronic illnesses, should speak to their doctor before beginning a new supplement routine – even where the product was specifically developed for that group.

One thing is clear: the multi-week trial by the Conscious Consumer Club illustrates how strongly supplements can influence perceived hair quality, hair density and nail strength when both formulation and use suit a person’s circumstances. Kerabione therefore positions itself clearly as a brand for women seeking more than just another conditioner – namely internal support that can be felt in the mirror and in everyday life.
